Joyce to Host Resource Fair for OH-14 Veterans

BAINBRIDGE – Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) today announced that his office will host a Veterans Resource Fair at the Mayfield Village Community Room on November 22 to help connect Northeast Ohio veterans with resources available to them as well as benefits they may be entitled to receive. The event will be attended by representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Small Business Administration, the CuyahogaGeauga and Lake County Veterans Service Commissions, the Cleveland American Veterans Association, Cuyahoga and Lakeland Community Colleges, Sub Zero Mission and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, among others.

“As the son of a World War II veteran, I know first-hand the challenges veterans can face when they come home,” said Dave. “While there’s a wide range of benefits and programs designated for veterans, navigating these resources is so complicated that many veterans are unaware that they may qualify to receive them or that they even exist at all. This event will help connect our heroes with benefits they may be eligible for and help them understand the resources at their disposal to help them transition back to civilian life. After asking our servicemembers to risk their lives to protect our country, we have the responsibility to ensure they have what they need to live healthy, happy and successful lives when they return home.”

At the resource fair, veterans will have the opportunity to learn about both new and existing benefits that are available to veterans enrolled in VA health care including new telehealth resources and access to urgent care. They will also have the opportunity to learn about and sign up for local, state and federal benefits and receive assistance on obtaining their DD-214, service medals, service treatment records, personnel files, or a copy of their VBA file.

Admission to the fair is free; location and time details are listed below. For additional information or if you have any questions about the event, please contact Devin Wilgus at Dave’s Mentor office at (440) 352-3939 or Devin.Wilgus@mail.house.gov.
