Joyce Tours Manufacturing Facility
MANTUA, OH – Yesterday, U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) toured the T.J. Davies Company, Inc., facility in Mantua, Ohio, to commemorate their 60th anniversary. The company was founded by Thomas Jared Davies in 1965, and it is now owned and operated by his daughter, Sherry Davies. T.J. Davies is one of the world’s premier manufacturers of steel retention knobs.
“T.J. Davies has long been a worldwide leader in retention knob manufacturing, and they are a shining example of Ohio’s manufacturing excellence,” said Congressman Joyce. “As Co-Chair of the Manufacturing Caucus, it is my job to make sure our manufacturers have the workforce and technology they need to compete. I want to thank Sherry and her staff for the wonderful tour of the facility, as conversations with manufacturers on the ground keep us better informed in Congress.”
“We were thrilled to host Congressman Joyce and his staff for a tour of our manufacturing plant today,” said Sherry Davies, owner and operator of T.J. Davies Company. “Dave demonstrated a sincere interest in all our employees and products. We felt honored to receive a proclamation celebrating our 60 years of manufacturing in Ohio.”
Background:
Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Thomas Jared Davies moved to Northeast Ohio and started T.J. Davies Company. The business originated as a “Job Shop”, producing a variety of products, before it ended up focusing on the production of retention knobs. Today, they produce around 500 different styles of retention knobs. These products are used by government partners like the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Department of Energy, as well as private sector industry leaders.
