Joyce Announces Membership in the Conservative Climate Caucus
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) joined Congressman John Curtis (UT-03) and more than 50 of his fellow Republicans in launching the Conservative Climate Caucus. The group, which includes representatives from every committee with jurisdiction over climate policy, is dedicated to enacting conservative climate legislation that supports the environment as well as America’s national security and economy.
“I’m proud to be among those launching the Conservative Climate Caucus today,” said Joyce. “Republicans need to have a voice in creating practical solutions to address climate change. As conservatives, we are a group dedicated to implementing policies that reduce emissions and ensure Americans are good stewards of the environment without sacrificing jobs or hurting our economy. It’s my hope that this caucus will make real progress on climate policies by embracing the free market and American innovation so that the United States continues to be the global leader in reducing emissions.”
“Proposals to reduce emissions and be good stewards of the earth do not have to hurt the American economy – in fact they do the opposite,” said Rep. John Curtis, Caucus Chairman. “There is a way to lower global emissions without sacrificing American jobs and principles – and I believe Republicans are the ones that can and should be leading the charge.”
Joyce, who is the Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies as well as a Co-Chair of the Great Lakes Task Force, has consistently fought for common sense solutions that address negative impacts of climate change without hurting American workers or the nation’s economic prosperity.
