Joyce Again Returns Unused Office Funds to U.S. Treasury
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced that he has again returned thousands of taxpayer dollars from his Members’ Representational Allowance (MRA) to the U.S. Treasury.
“Considering that the U.S. is rapidly approaching $29 trillion in debt, each year I request that any unused funds from my office be transferred to the Treasury to help reduce the deficit,” said Joyce. “I’m proud to report that since I was sent to Washington to represent the people of Northeast Ohio, I have returned over $1,000,000 in taxpayer dollars to the Treasury. Fiscal responsibility is needed to create a stronger, more prosperous nation for the next generation, which is why I began the tradition of returning unused taxpayer funds back when I was the Geauga County Prosecutor. It’s no secret that it will take a lot to change how Washington does business, but I will not stop working until we have restored fiscal discipline in our nation’s capital.”
