WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) and his colleagues on the House Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump have continued to call on all federal agencies to cooperate fully with their ongoing investigation into the attempts on President Trump’s life earlier this year. In July, Speaker Mike Johnson selected Congressman Joyce to serve on the Task Force.

Yesterday, the Task Force sent a second letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), addressing the agency’s failure to schedule transcribed interviews with the Task Force and produce requested documents. The Task Force’s initial letter to ATF on October 3, requested documents, materials, and transcribed interviews with ATF agents who provided support or response functions in connection to the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, and West Palm Beach, Florida. ATF replied to the initial letter on October 22 with a brief narrative response that did not satisfy the Task Force’s request.

The second letter to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach and Acting Assistant Director Ann Vallandingham requests an initial production of documents and dates for interviews with key employees no later than November 13, 2024.

You can read the letter here. Learn more about the Task Force’s work here.
