Joyce Named to House Committee on Homeland Security
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Republican Conference ratified Congressman Dave Joyce’s (OH-14) selection to serve on the House Committee on Homeland Security. This assignment reflects Congressman Joyce’s proven record of leadership on border security, combating the opioid crisis, and supporting law enforcement. Joyce recently served as Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security in the 118th Congress, where he shepherded the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) House Appropriations Homeland Security bill to passage in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I am honored to be joining the House Committee on Homeland Security. As a former Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, I bring prior experience overseeing these issues and look forward to contributing to the Committee’s work,” said Congressman Joyce. “I look forward to working to maintain a secure border, stop the flow of fentanyl and other deadly narcotics into our communities, and ensure every American is protected at home and abroad.”
“I am honored to have Congressman Joyce join us on the House Committee on Homeland Security,” said Congressman Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. “With over a decade of service in Congress and having previously served as Chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, Congressman Joyce brings with him an invaluable perspective on effective governance and a resolute commitment to the core mission of the Department of Homeland Security. I look forward to working alongside him to ensure DHS has the tools, resources, and oversight needed to protect Americans amid an evolving threat landscape.”
