Joyce Holds COVID-19 Telephone Town Hall for Seniors
WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) held a COVID-19 telephone town hall to provide constituents of Ohio’s 14th Congressional District with information and resources to help older adults and those caring for them protect themselves from the virus and prevent its spread to others. He was joined in this effort by the following Ohio officials and health experts:
- Ursel McElroy, Director of the Ohio Department of Aging
- Holly Holtzen, State Director of AARP Ohio
- Dr. Rita Papas, Medical Director of Hospital Operations at Cleveland Clinic
- Matt Reed, Senior VP of Communications & Administration of the Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities
-
Douglas Beach, CEO of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging
“It’s very important that we continue to stay informed during this outbreak and take proactive, precautionary steps to limit community spread,” said Joyce. “Ohio has the sixth largest older adult population in the nation, and that population is at a higher risk of serious illness with COVID-19. I thank the thousands of constituents who listened in and greatly appreciate Director McElroy, Director Holtzen, Dr. Papas, Mr. Reed and Mr. Beach for joining me to answer the questions at the forefront of people’s minds, address the impact of the outbreak on our seniors and their caregivers, and provide them with the resources available to help them get through this difficult, unprecedented time.”
