Joyce Announces $1M Grant to NEOMED for Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program

OHIO – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will award the Northeast Ohio Medical University $1,000,000 for its Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program. 

“As Ohio continues to face industry-wide healthcare staffing shortages, it is important we are working to train and better equip geriatric health professionals to meet the growing demand,” said Congressman Dave Joyce. “This funding will ensure Northeast Ohio Medical University can continue their work to improve healthcare for Ohio’s geriatric population.”

The program expands the scope of a long-standing academic, medical practice and community-based organization partnership that focuses on improving the knowledge and skills of the primary care workforce to optimize outcomes in the geriatric population. Learn more here.
