Joyce Announces $1.4M for Ohio Historic Preservation
OHIO – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced $1,447,930 in funding from the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Fund for preservation efforts in Ohio. Congressman Joyce is a cosponsor of the Historic Preservation Fund Reauthorization Act to extend and increase funding for the program through FY 2033.
Established in 1977, the Historic Preservation Fund was authorized at $150 million per year through 2023 and has provided more than $2.7 billion in historic preservation grants to states, tribes, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Administered by the NPS, the funds appropriated by Congress support a variety of historic preservation programs and projects to help preserve the nation’s cultural resources and history.
“Ohio is home to an abundance of national and historic parks that provide irreplaceable spaces of historical treasures and outdoor recreation,” said Congressman Joyce. “I am glad to support this critical funding to preserve historic treasures in Ohio and across the country for generations to come.”
