Joyce Named 2019 Medicare Advantage Champion

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced that he has been named a 2019 Medicare Advantage Champion by the Coalition for Medicare Choices.

“Northeast Ohio seniors have worked hard and contributed to our communities their entire lives,” said Dave. “It’s critical that we preserve coverage options like Medicare Advantage to ensure that they have access to the quality, affordable health care they deserve as they age. Lowering the cost of health care and improving health services continue to be some of my top priorities in Congress, which is why I remain committed to protecting Medicare Advantage for the millions of seniors and individuals with disabilities who depend on it and for future beneficiaries.”

“The all-in-one coverage seniors receive through Medicare Advantage plan is invaluable,” said Christopher A. Galloway, Coalition for Medicare Choices advocate and Lake County Auditor.  “Medicare Advantage provides access to free preventive care benefits, prescription drugs, and financial protections no matter what happens to them as they get older. Ohio seniors are fortunate to have Congressman Joyce in Washington working to protect the Medicare Advantage program. I thank him for standing up for the health care coverage seniors rely on and need to continue through Medicare Advantage.”

“Representative Joyce has shown that he is a true champion for more affordable and better health care options for seniors,” said Matt Eyles, President and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans. “In addition to standing up for a stronger Medicare program for seniors, he also fought to repeal harmful taxes – helping to make premiums more affordable for everyone.”

More than 22 million people across the country have Medicare Advantage plans, which provide Americans over 65 and those with disabilities comprehensive medical coverage. These plans typically include a variety of benefits such as vision coverage, hearing coverage and dental coverage. Last year, Dave joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers in sending a letter to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Seema Verma, to express his strong support for the Medicare Advantage Program.
