Joyce Announces Community Development Block Grant Funding for Ohio's 14th District February 18, 2020
BAINBRIDGE – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $160,491 to the city of Mentor through its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Trumbull County, which is partly in the 14th Congressional District, also had a locality receive CDBG funding. The city of Warren was awarded $1,193,528. “The Community Development Block Grant program is one of the most effective tools we have to help grow local economies and improve the lives of millions of low- and moderate-income Ohioans,” said Dave. “I’m proud to support this program as a member of the House Appropriations Committee and commend HUD for awarding this funding to Mentor and Warren. These grants will help those communities create jobs, advance their economic development, provide afterschool programs for children, improve services to seniors, and enhance homeownership assistance for hardworking Ohioans.” Most recently, Dave voted to provide the CDBG program with a $100 million increase from its previously enacted level, funding it at $3.4 billion for Fiscal Year 2020. This funding supports homeownership, housing rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements and economic development projects while encouraging additional local investment.
